Saving with Stirling Credit Union

Saving is a good habit - it provides for the unexpected. Saving is also the lowest cost way to afford the big-ticket items - like a wedding, or a new baby, or a new house.  The more you save, the more likely you are to be able to access our lowest loan interest rates when you need a loan.

We do not pay interest on savings accounts but as a member, you may receive a dividend on savings when we make surplus profit. Lower interest rates plus a dividend on savings:  a double incentive to save.

Your savings are secured under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) up to £85,000.

Benefits of Credit Union savings accounts

Ordinary savings are called shares in a Credit Union - they represent your 'ownership' as a member: you are not just ‘another customer’ but an active member of a highly successful financial co-operative. You own a share in the ownership of the Credit Union, eligible to earn a dividend on your savings.

As well as an instant access Share Account, we offer members a Christmas Savers Account and a Holiday Savers Account - these restrict your ability to withdraw funds until November or June respectively.

Important note: your savings are safe with us. As members of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) your savings with us are protected up to £85,000. Click here to download the FSCS Information Sheet.

Wherever you have savings - make sure that they are FSCS protected.
